Our story
Astrology provides a symbolic language for encountering planetary archetypes in the patterns of our lives.
At Planets Perfumery, we imagine ways in which these archetypal essences might communicate through the senses. In this way, we invite a simple, intimate, and grounded relationship with the celestial bodies and their archetypes. There is something ritualistic about spraying perfume on our bodies each day. We anoint ourselves with fragrance to evoke a feeling within, whether it be confidence, or beauty, or pleasure. Planets Perfumery hopes to introduce awareness into that ritual by inviting the question: What do I need today? Could it be the creative alchemy of Mercury or the nourishment of Venus? Or the bold spark of Mars?
We are small batch and independent, founded by two archetypal astrologers (Jenna Scott and Socorro Carrillo-Lopez) and one animistic perfumer (Mauricio Garcia). We value Beauty, focused intention, artistic integrity, and sustainability. Our fragrances never use endangered species. We prioritize ethical naturals, with human-made synthetic molecules selected based on sustainable origins, biodegradability and mood-elevating qualities. Each perfume (and aesthetic world built around it) is co-created with the spirit of the archetype involved.
Our desire is for Planets Perfumery to expand into a complete olfactory exploration of all of the planetary archetypes, with each fragrance offering its own sensory doorway into that particular archetypal world. We hope you'll join us on the journey!

As with all things astrological, Planets Perfumery was born from alignments.
Jenna & Coco met in 2024 while both attending grad school at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), studying Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness. Between their shared interests, aligned values, and eerily similar natal charts, there was an immediate sense of recognition, and a friendship sparked. Jenna had previously founded Stars Etc LLC in 2022, with dreams of it becoming an astrologically oriented production company. After meeting Coco and sharing their visions, the two entered into a business partnership, beginning with Coco joining as a co-host on Jenna’s podcast, Coven (a Stars Etc podcast about exploring the archetype of the Witch). After listening to a podcast episode featuring Ashley Santiago (French Cowboy), in which Ashley discussed the life and work of a perfumer and the world of niche fragrance, Jenna’s lifelong fascination with scent crystalized into the seed of an idea for an archetypal fragrance line. A conversation about astrology at a local perfume shop in San Francisco (where Jenna had landed through a twist of fate) inspired Jenna to contact Ashley with her idea for a fragrance line. Ashley then connected Jenna with Mauricio Garcia (Herbcraft Perfumery), a perfumer based in the Bay Area. Seeing Planets Perfumery as the perfect opportunity to manifest perfumes he had, in some sense, already been preparing for, Mauricio was immediately interested.
This project came to be as a result of synchronicities and serendipity. Three is a coven, and as such, Jenna, Coco, and Mauricio pooled together their different areas of knowledge, expertise, curiosity, and resources to bring Planets Perfumery to life.
